La Brigade Winter Shoot is February 22nd & 23rd
The holler along Old Mines Creek will echo with the sounds of Black Powder rifles as La Brigade hosts the annual Winter Shoot at the St. Jaochim Parish grounds in Old Mines, just off Highway 21. Original foods, crafts, and displays will be out over the weekend along with traders from around the area showing off their wares.
This event is for Flintlock and Percussion Black Powder Rifles (no inlines): Traditional shooting out of the Pouch (includes flint ad steel Fire Start and Trap Set) Saturday and Sunday 10 A.M. to 2 P.M.
Smoothbore Shooting competition Sunday 10 A.M to 2 P.M.
Primitive Archery Shoot for Adults and Juniors Saturday and Sunday 10 A.M. to 2 P.M.
There is a $10 Shooting Fee required per event. Awards Ceremony for all events will be at 3 P.M. Sunday, February 26th.
Period attire is required at the time of the Shooter’s Registry and on Ranges. Period attire is also required for all Shooters and Campers
No loaded guns are allowed in Camp!
There is a $10 Camp fee and if applicable, a $10 Traders Fee. Water and some firewood will be available. Shooters and campers must be in proper period attire at all times. Pets must be on leashes and no horses are allowed in camp.
No set-ups before 8 A.M. Thursday and no camping after 9 P.M, Sunday. Gates will be closed from 8 A.M. Saturday to 3:30 P.M. Sunday
Supper is provided Friday night for participants (period attire is required for participants)
Fresh baked bread will be available from the Four a Pain Ovens throughout the event.
This Winter event is open to the general public and spectators are welcome. Free Admission and parking but please park in designated areas.
